[all that] is just me losing things

[I have seen the episode 1x09 Wheels. I am a member of the media, and as such I receive screeners from time to time. I have seen the episode, and while Brittany is never totally plot-important, there are development points that occur in Wheels for her, and this has been eating at my brain for two weeks now. If you want to stay spoiler free - DO NOT READ THIS]

Where did it go? Brittany paused, her entire body stilling for a moment as she turned her head to look for - There it is! - the pen she had dropped. Technically it had just rolled off of her pile of books. It was difficult to hold her books in her lap, and steer the wheelchair, but she'd been managing it fairly well.

"I think it's fun," Becky mentioned from behind her. They had been taking turns pushing each other in the wheelchair. Brittany knew it was probably against the rules, but sometimes she just forgot. It wasn't like anyone really had been calling her on it, no one even seemed to notice.

"It's really fun, do you want your turn?" Brittany was holding her books, clutching them to her chest as he turned a bit smiling up at her friend.

"No, I can still push you."

Beaming brightly at her best friend she nodded, "Whenever you want to switch we can." It wasn't as if she minded being pushed around, it was a lot easier to hold onto her books, when her hands weren't running along the rails of the wheels. I think I should try to make those Cereal Bars... maybe I can try and - Oh!

"Becky, hold on," Brittany got up crossing the hallway and looking at the bulletin board where all of the notices had been posted. She had been hoping there was something about the cheerleading tryouts. She'd heard about them, and now she saw the flier.

"Come here!" Brittany was smiling at her friend, waving her over to the board, "See? You could try out. Then we'd be able to hang out more. I could help you." She could hear the slight shuffle of her friends feet beside her, and Brittany put her books down and put her arms around her friend, resting her cheek to the top of her head, "It'd be cool!"

"You said there were jumpropes?"

"Yeah, we're trying out something new," she continued nodding against Becky's hair.

"I could do jumpropes."

"You could totally do jumpropes," Brittany kept talking, walking away from the bulletin board, keeping her friend close by. "You can borrow mine and we can practice after I get done with Glee."

Brittany kept walking, keeping her focus more on her friend, than on the abandoned wheelchair that was now being taken by one of the football jocks. No doubt in order to try and use it for something it was clearly not intended for.
